Designing something from scratch
Custom design sounds like a big step.
In reality, it’s just a more intentional way of getting to the right piece.
You don’t need to come in with a finished idea. Most people don’t.
Sometimes it starts with a reference. Sometimes with a shape you keep going back to. And sometimes it’s just the feeling that you want something that doesn’t already exist.
That’s enough to begin.
What can actually be made
In most cases, we can design and create any type of jewelry — rings, pendants, earrings, or custom pieces built around a specific idea.
That said, not everything that looks good in a reference image works in real life.
Some designs run into technical limitations — things like durability, stone security, or structural balance. When that happens, we’ll guide you toward a version that keeps the look but actually holds up over time.
Most ideas can be made.
They just need to be translated correctly.
We can also source specific gemstones if you’re looking for something particular — whether that’s a certain shape, size, or type of stone.
If you already have a stone, we can often work with it as well.
It just needs to be evaluated first to make sure it’s suitable for the design and safe to set.
How the process actually works
Everything starts with a conversation.
We’ll go through what you’re drawn to, what you’re unsure about, and how you plan to wear the piece. That last part matters more than people expect — because a design has to hold up in real life, not just look good in a render.
From there, we move into the stone.
The center stone defines almost everything: proportions, structure, even how delicate or bold the final piece can be. You’ll be guided through this by someone GIA-trained, so the decision isn’t based on specs alone, but on how each stone actually looks and performs.
If needed, stones can also be certified by Gemological Institute of America (GIA) within the U.S. for an additional cost.
Turning the idea into something you can see
Once we have direction, we translate everything into a 3D design.
This is where the piece becomes tangible. You’ll be able to see how high the setting sits, how the stone is secured, and how the overall proportions come together.
If you’d like to take it a step further, the design can also be 3D printed in resin so you can physically see and feel the piece before it’s made in gold.
We can ship this model to you — the only cost is shipping.
It also gives us a chance to refine anything that doesn’t feel quite right.
Nothing moves forward until you’re confident in it.
A note on custom pieces
Because each piece is made specifically for you, custom designs cannot be returned.
We make sure everything is clearly defined and approved before production so you can move forward with confidence.
